CSF sample should be directed to Microbiology (NPV) prior to forwarding to refer laboratory.

Can be ordered in combination with:  NMDA, GABAB , AMPA, ANTI- LGI 1, ANTI -CASPR2, ANTI- DPPX. (1.0ML csf is adequate for combination testing).

Blood Serum: request for 5.0 mls of blood collected in serum gel (SST).

CSF: request for 1.0mls

Samples not available for delivery following collection are to the department to book in an to be stored at 4 oC. Storage at 4 o C is suitable for up to 2 weeks thereafter samples need to be frozen and sent on dry ice.
