CSF sample should be forwarded to Microbiology (NPV) prior to sending to referring laboratory.

Can be ordered in combination with GABAB , AMPA, ANTI- LGI 1, ANTI- CASPR2, ANTI- DPPX, ANTI-VGKC(1.0mls csf is adequate for combination testing)

Samples suitable for auto-antibody screening:

Blood Serum: request for 5.0 mls of blood collected in serum gel (SST)

CSF: request for 1.0ml

 Storage at 4oC is suitable for up to 2 weeks thereafter samples need to be frozen and sent on dry ice.
