A valid group and hold is required for RBC issue.

If the patient does not have a valid group and hold, a Blood Group and Antibody Screen must first be collected and processed prior to issuing RBC. See Blood Group and Antibody Screen (BGS) for sample details.

Transport Instructions:

Forward paper requests to Blood Bank during EMR downtime or for patients not on Northern Health's EMR.
