CSF sample should be directed to Microbiology (NPV) prior to forwarding to refer laboratory.

Can be ordered in combincation with : NMDA, GABAB, ANTI-LGI 1, ANTI- CASPR2, ANTI DPPX, ANTI- VGKC. (1.0mls csf is adequate for combination testing).

Samples suitable for auto-antibody screening:

Blood Serum: request for 5.0 mls of blood collected in serum gel tubes (SST).

CSF: request for 1.0mls

Samples not available for delivery following collection are to be stored at 4oC and delivered on ice. Storage at 4oC is suitable for up to 2 weeks thereafter samples need to be frozen and sent on dry ice.

Urgent requests can be performed within 72hrs
