Plasma Selenium Reference Intervals:

            Children;

        <1 yr         0.2-1.4 umol/L

        1-5 yrs     0.4-1.4 umol/L

        5-18 yrs   0.5-1.4 umoll/L

     

             Adults;                 0.8-1.4 umol/L

Whole Blood assay Note:  Do NOT send whole blood (Red Cell) - Whole Blood/Red Cell and Plasma Selenium have different reference ranges and clinical significance.
