Free testosterone calculated using the Vermeulen equation (Ann Clin Biochem 2006; 43:389-397)

This reference interval is based on the study from Andrology Australia in eugonadal young men (Sikaris KA et al, J Clin Endocrinol Metab 2005; 90:5928-36.) There is an age related fall in free testosterone in healthy older men, whose calculated free testosterone may be as low as 140pmol/L.
