Sample should be taken before transfusion.

Specimens must be kept at room temperature and must be less than 24hours old.

Specimens should be sent to the Haematology Laboratory on Mondays to Thursdays between 0900-1730 hrs. Outside these hours liase with the Haemtology Registrar  before collecting.
