This test will be discontinued as of 30th August 2016 for patients aged > 4 years. For patients > 4 years the breath hydrogen test is recommended for the investigation of sugar malabsorption.

After Hours: Week end / Pub Hol - Scientist on call 0800 to 2000hr

Additional Notes:

Transport Frozen to RCH. From 30th August 2016, RCH no longer offer testing for reducing substances in faecal specimens for patients greater than 4 years of age.

For patients greater than 4 years of age, with suspected carbohydrate malabsorption, a Breath Hydrogen Test is recommended.
