Registration:

Add-on test to a biopsy accession. Registration is performed by Anatomical Pathology.

Authorisation:

Pathologist requested test.

Pathologist block selection by Prof McLean or Dr Saxon required. The pathologist will indicate if PCR or FISH is the preferred method of analysis.

Resulting:

Test results will be incorporated into a supplementary report issued by the reporting pathologist.

Sample Required: Paraffin Block or Paraffin Scrolls

Paraffin block containing tumour (requires block designation by pathologist). Block must be returned to Anatomical Pathology.

Paraffin Scrolls can be sent as an alternative. Cut (5x20 micron) with a clean blade into a labelled sterile Eppendorf tube.
