Pathologist authorisation required prior to testing.

The request must specify pan-mycobacterial PCR and there must be an indication on the request whether AFB have been detected by smear microscopy.

Requests that specify AFB PCR, Mycobacterial PCR, or Atypical PCR will not be accepted for testing.

Sterile specimens and tissues will only be processed for this assay
