CT & Ultrasound Assisted FNA
These procedures must be booked in advance to ensure staff are available.
FNA’s of deeply – placed lesions and organs, which require CT or Ultrasound guidance, should be discussed with and referred in the first instance to the department of Radiology
A Pathologist or Cytology Scientist is available to attend these FNA procedures to ensure specimen adequacy and to triage cellular material for other investigations, such as Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry and Microbiology.
Cytology morphological results can be made available within hours of the procedure.
