Collection Procedure: Collect the biopsy into a labelled container of 70% ethanol (preferably on ice) immediately after taking the biopsy. The temperature must not exceed 25C at any time.

Biopsy Procedure: Contact the reference laboratory for specific advice regarding the biopsy and tetracycline labelling protocol.

Store at 4'C

Specimen should be recieved in 70% alcohol. Formalin fixation is not suitable. If specimen is received unfixed add 70% ethanol as soon as possible.

Store sample in 70% ethanol at 4C until ready for dispatch to reference laboratory.
