Collection & Request Instructions:

No sample is required for RhD Immunoglobulin (Anti-D) issue.

However, an Rh(D) Negative blood group must be on file with Northern Pathology Victoria, or evidence of an Rh(D) Negative blood group must be available on request from an external pathology provider.

If there is no record of a blood group, a Blood Group and Antibody Screen must first be collected and processed prior to issuing platelets. See Blood Group and Antibody Screen (BGS) for sample details.

Transport Instructions:

Forward paper requests to Blood Bank during EMR downtime or for patients not on Northern Health's EMR.
