Collection & Request Instructions:

To facilitate the diagnosis of congenital syphilis, maternal serum is normally collected and tested at the same time as baby's serum.

If a maternal serum is received at the same time (same day), please panel SYC for both specimens and send them to VIDRL. Do not process the maternal serum for in-house testing.
