Registration Instructions

Unless requested by Paediatrician and clinical notes indicate developmental delay, this request must be approved by the Director of Pathology prior to sending. 

Test can also be performed on Salivary Kit (VCGS) available from NPV collection rooms (Northern Hospital)

Private patients: Medicare rebate (bulk billed): $86.15 (PCR test), $172.30 (Southern blot).

Public (Northern Health request form): No charge 

Non-Medicare patients: $101.30 (PCR test), $202.65 (Southern blot).

Reporting time

PCR: 2-3 weeks

Southern blot: 2-3 weeks
